*Fresh ingredients you need that are not part of our pantry and freezer tips.
Instructions
- Add frozen watermelon cubes to a blender with lime, maple syrup, and grated ginger.
- Pulse the blender just a few times to break the watermelon down into a snow cone texture.
- Scoop the icy mixture into bowls and pat into a mound.
- Enjoy while frozen with a spoon and straw!
Notes
Approximate Cost: My cost for a large watermelon in season is typically $4.99 to $7.99 Canadian. A single snow cone typically costs $2. A large watermelon could yield at least 12 snow cones so this can be a thrifty way to offer a naturally sweetened but still very fun treat!
If you don’t have frozen watermelon cubes you can make this with a fresh watermelon. Blend the fresh watermelon with the additional ingredients and freeze in a loaf pan or casserole dish. Once frozen, use a fork to scrape the icy mixture and scoop into bowls.
