This vegan mango lassi is such a treat! Have you ever had a mango lassi? It’s:
Thick
Creamy
So Refreshing
Perfectly Sweet
Delicately Spiced
And Just So Pretty!
We had our first mango lassi at a fantastic Indian restaurant in Krakow Poland of all places! We traveled to Poland in 2018 and had so many incredible meals. We spent nearly three weeks travelling Warsaw, Lublin, and Krakow and there were so many restaurants we kept returning to.
In keeping with our thrifty theme, our Canadian dollars happen to convert very favourably to the Polish zloty. Even more so for other currencies! So if you haven’t been, put Poland on your travel bucket list and enjoy all the history, culture, and tastiness it has to offer!
What Is A Lassi
Piping Pot Curry has a great blog about mango lassi and explains that a lassi is a:
Yogurt based drink that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is typically a blend of yoghurt, water or milk, spices, and sometimes fruit.

Which Yogurt Is Best
Our version uses coconut yogurt since that is usually what we have on hand if we buy yogurt. However! many traditional recipes do recommend using almond yogurt if you’re going to use a plant based alternative. So if you want a more traditional taste; almond yogurt would be a great option.
We love the refreshing flavour that coconut yogurt brings to this lassi so if you’re a fan of coconut you will sip this up in no time!
Recipe Cost
To be honest, yogurt isn’t a staple for us. We tend to only buy it for special recipes when we come across a sale. This quick and tasty vegan mango lassi is one of those special recipes!
- With full priced coconut yogurt, this recipe costs us: CAD $2.87/serving.
- But, we usually hold out for yogurt on sale and this recipe will cost us: CAD $1.67/serving.
So if yogurt is a staple for you, then blend up this simple, thick and creamy vegan mango lassi right away! And if you’re like us, then snatch that yogurt when it’s on sale OR try our 5 Min Easy Homemade Mango/Pineapple Tofu “Yogurt”!

Had all the ingredients for this. My 13 year old made me make more as soon as she tasted it (and she’s typically pretty picky). Really refreshing for this hot weather we’re having now.
