There's just something about peanut butter isn't there? You just can't go wrong. Add peanut butter to something and it becomes the dreamiest, tastiest creation. It's no wonder that this 5 minute peanut sauce comes to the rescue time and time again!

This thick and creamy peanut sauce:

  • Has some tanginess from lime juice and rice vinegar
  • Savoury saltiness from tamari
  • Sweetness from maple syrup
  • And a spicy kick from chilli garlic sauce.

How To Make This Peanut Sauce

Combine. And stir.

That's it! Isn't that the best?

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir or gently whisk until a smooth peanut sauce forms!

Recipe Cost

This 5 minute homemade peanut sauce makes 1 cup of sauce and costs us approximately: CAD $1.79.

If we are serving this as a dipping sauce for fresh spring rolls; we garnish the top with crushed peanuts. That brings our cost to: CAD $1.94.

How To Serve Peanut Sauce

Besides serving this peanut sauce as the tastiest dipping sauce for our Fresh Spring Rolls, you can use this sauce for:

Drizzling over buddha bowls or other fresh bowls
Salads
Stir-frys
Or adding a ton of flavour to tofu!

Best Peanut Butter To Use

A natural, unsweetened peanut butter will be the most versatile to have in your fridge.

I confess... I have a small addiction to peanut butter. So having a versatile jar in the fridge means I can have peanut butter for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert! Not really... I do try to keep my consumption under control... some days are better than others. BUT,

A natural peanut butter, where peanuts are the only ingredient listed on the label, will allow you to seamlessly add it to both your sweet and savoury dishes!

I grew up eating sweetened peanut butter, so switching to unsweetened took some getting used to. If you're like me, you may be weirded out by the oil that accumulates on the surface of natural peanut butter. Some brands will require you to give the peanut butter a stir before every use, but others will require an initial stir and then stay smooth and combined afterwards.

Find your favourite peanut butter, stir up this tasty sauce, and let us know in the comments below how our 5 minute peanut sauce comes to the rescue for you!
