This festive pomegranate rum punch is perfect for your holiday gatherings whether you enjoy it spiked or non-alcoholic. A delicious combination of pomegranate, cranberry, and orange juices; carbonated water for some bubbles, and optional white rum! It’s:
Easy to prepare
A festive deep red colour
Beautifully garnished with cinnamon, dried or fresh fruit, and rosemary
And delicious spiked or virgin
Ingredients
This festive pomegranate rum punch is made with a combination of:
- Pomegranate juice.
- Cranberry juice.
- Blood orange juice or regular orange juice.
- Carbonated water.
- And optionally white rum.
I love using pomegranate juice for this recipe but it can be pricier than other juices and potentially harder to find. We find the best price to be at our wholesale store but scroll down below for a detailed price comparison.
Feel free to replace the pomegranate juice with all cranberry juice or use cherry!
For the carbonated water; feel free to use club soda, mineral water, or add some extra flavour with a flavoured bubbly water. I have found many pomegranate or blood orange flavoured waters that would be great to use. They will likely add some extra sugars to the punch so I tend to choose a plain mineral water like Perrier or a similar brand.
Tips For Festive Rum Punch
You can mix this delicious punch in your punch bowl just before serving or mix the juice and rum ahead of time.
I suggest waiting to add the carbonated water until just before you serve the punch. The bubbles will not last very long at all so they are best added just before serving. The first round of glasses should get a nice bubbly crispness.
Follow the same rule of thumb if you decide to make this recipe a champagne punch instead of a rum punch! Add the wonderful bubbly just before serving!
I haven’t tested this recipe as a champagne punch but 1 bottle should be enough and could replace the sparkling water if desired. You may need to play with the amounts of the other juices to make the tastiest combination so consider having some extra on hand!
Festive Garnishes
I love garnishing the top of this punch with:
2 cinnamon sticks and…
Thin slices of fresh orange OR,
The beautiful dried citrus slices I used in these photos!
I had the pleasure of using these beautiful and fragrant slices of dried fruit from Fresh Dried. All their products are organic and can be enjoyed as a snack, used to garnish drinks and desserts OR even used as beautiful and fragrant holiday decorations!
Another surprisingly lovely touch is to garnish each punch glass with a sprig of rosemary. It adds a wonderful bit of herby freshness that completes the experience!
Storing The Punch
We have actually kept leftovers of this punch for quite a few days and it should last for up to 2 weeks. The rum should act as a preservative for the juice!
I do suggest removing the garnish and storing just the beverage. BUT, if you want a nice and potent cinnamon spiciness then go ahead and leave those cinnamon sticks in!
Recipe Cost
This festive pomegranate rum punch with the rum and pomegranate juice from our wholesale store costs us approximately: CAD $16.21.
If we serve a non-alcoholic version of this punch it costs us roughly CAD $5.96!
And using pomegranate juice from our local grocery store increases the cost by roughly $2.00.

Oh… and if you have extra pomegranate juice leftover… make sure you use it for our Festive Pomegranate Fesenjan. This Iranian stew is one of our favourite meals and it makes a beautiful addition to holiday gatherings!
